The Dragon 200 was basically a Dragon 64 with a modified case allowing a monitor to be placed on top of it. A power LED was also added.
The case was designed in Spain by EuroHard, a subsidiary of Dragon Data of U.K. which eventually bought its parent company. EuroHard also built the computer but it was sold in Spain by IDS.
The Dragon 200 was a commercial success in Spain and some south European countries, as well as the 200E, a version equipped with a 80-column video card. However, despite several attempts to produces other ranges of computers, among them the Dragon MSX, the production stopped in 1986 and EuroHard closed its doors in 1988.
We need more info about this computer ! If you designed, used, or have more info about this system,
please send us pictures or anything you might find useful.
Please consider donating your old computer / videogame system to Old-Computers.com or one of our partners from anywhere in the world (Europe, America, Asia, etc.).
Recently I had the opportunity to borrow a Dragon 200E so I could dump the roms, take pictures, and scan the PCBs.
It doesn''t have an 80-column card, rather a new character rom, which can be disabled by software.
You can find the pictures here: http://archive.worldofdragon.org/index.php?title$Dragon_200
And the PCB scans here: http://archive.worldofdragon.org/index.php?title$Motherboard_Pictures$Dragon_200E
