Well, we haven't got much information about this one. We just have an advertisement in a newspaper. It says it's a handheld Apple
compatible. Well it seems quite large for a handheld.
Under "operating system", there is: IMC version 5.1, APPLE DOS, PRODOS and CP/M 2.2 compatible, there is also MS-DOS 2.0 in
option.
Under "storage": 1 "slimsize" disk drive with controller, capacity of 143kb.

It is called IMC (not IMCE) Junior, and it was an Apple II+ clone from the Taiwanese company IMC. It came with both a 6502 and a Z80 CPU. IMC got an official license of Apple (after some wrangling by lawyers in court in 1984) for DOS 3.3 and other Apple II system software. For the Z80 it also shipped with an official P/M license. It was released in October 1984 for around $500 and came as a standard with 64KB RAM.

This one looks remarkably like the CCE MC5000 PC/XT portable that was sold in Brazil in the late 80s early 90s.
The keyboard is pretty much PC-ish too. I don't think this is an Apple II compatible despite the "//c inspired" case. This dual Apple II/IBM PC thing seems rather fishy.

In 1985 my two brothers and I pooled our money and bought a PC compatible computer that looked exactly like the IMCE Junior. It ran at 4.77MHz had 256Kb RAM and a 360 K floppy on the side. Also had CGA grpahics. I have NEVER been able to find exactly who the manufacturer was. I was only 9 years old in 1985 so can't remember much. I'll ask my much older brother what he can remember. My guess: It was a taiwanese clone that used the IMCE chassis.I'm in South Africa by the way. Our politics at the time would have made it easier to import from France and the far east than from USA or UK.
