B > BINATONE > TV Master 4 plus 2 (model n° 01 / 4869)

Binatone
TV Master 4 plus 2 (model n° 01 / 4869)

This pong is one of the many Binatone systems. As its name indicates, it offers 6 games : 4 pong games (squash, squash practice, football, tennis) and 2 shooting games (target, shooting).

In order to understand how this system fits into the Binatone pong range, here is simplified list of the systems :

TV Master MK IV
TV Master 4 plus 2
TV Master MK 6
TV Master MK 8
TV Master MK 10

Colour TV Game
Colour TV Game 4 plus 2
Colour TV Game MK 6
Colour TV Game MK 10

The TV master serie are black & white pongs (first generation). The TV Master 4 plus 2 system is the same as the TV Master MK 6 except that the light gun is only optional while it is included in the MK 6 package. Same marketing strategy for the Color TV Game 4 plus 2 and Color TV Game MK 6.

The two shooting games (and thus the optional lightgun) are also the only difference between the TV Master Game 4 plus 2 and TV Master MK IV.

So how to differentiate a TV Master 4 plus 2 from a Colour TV Game 4 plus 2 ? Well first, the name... ;-) The underside and switches of the former are orange while those of the Colour TV Game are grey. The Colour TV Game has also a small 'colour' logo next to its name (upper right), which the TV Master has not.

The paddles are rather small, with one knob each, but are detachable and connected to the system through two small sockets. One interesting feature is that there is a switch to turn sound on / off (great !).
