The Piccoline is a direct descendant of the Piccolo, and was launched in 1984.
It was more or less strictly meant for Danish educational institutions
such as schools, high schools and universities. It was used extensively
for teaching basic programming skills, using the languages Comal 80 and
Pascal.
Thanks to Henrik Schmidt from Denmark for information and pictures.
We need more info about this computer ! If you designed, used, or have more info about this system,
please send us pictures or anything you might find useful.
Please consider donating your old computer / videogame system to Old-Computers.com or one of our partners from anywhere in the world (Europe, America, Asia, etc.).
We have made the website http://rc700.dk dedicated to the RC759 PICCOLINE and RC750 Partner. On this website, one can download manuals and disk images, and an emulator for the system is also available. New information is frequently added.
We are very interested in getting more software and user manuals. If you have anything you think could contribute to the site, please let us know - we have the equipment to read floppy disks compatible with those systems, and try to rescue as much software as possible. See the Software section on the website for more information.
When i was in "gymnasium" in denmark we upgraded the old picolo, to these new fine piccoline.
In our configuration there were at the beginning 4 picoline connected to 1 piccoline with floppy disk, later on all computers were connected into a network with a server called PARTNER (a grown up piccoline) with a 12 mb harddrive (I think i can remember) - those were the days.
