TV Goalee

TV Goalee is an obscure but very interesting videogame released in 1974 by Chicago Coin. The TV display is positioned horizontaly and a rich decoration tries to simulate a real football stadium in "3d" (see screenshot below).

Apart from that, the game is another pong spin-off, trying to emulate a football game, but with some distinctive features:

- ball does not ricochet
- player can play the whole playfield from one end to the other. Players can go up to opponents' goal line.
- crowds roar when goal is made
- exciting sounds of ball being kicked
- referee whistles at start of game and during scoring

New joystick operation for complete playing freedom. Players really scramble across the playfield. Spectacular player action. Players can block each other - ball can be kicked and dribbled at all angles in the playfield.

Player control all the action. Ball is played from the center line. Both players compete to kick ball into goal. Ball returns to field where kicked out, and is automatically returned.

Thus, TV Goalee represents a real effort to simulate a real football game with the technical limitations of ball & paddle games of the time.
