Starship 1

Starship 1 is another ground breaking arcade game from Atari. It was very impressive at the time. While everybody were still playing ball & paddle arcade games, Atari released this fantastic space simulation, with pseudo 3D star field fast zooming sprites.

Of course it was a shock, and Starship 1 inspired many game to follow.

Player must chase the ennemies, center them in the crosshairs and shoot them with its phasers. Player has also 5 "proton torpedoes" which will destroy everything found on screen.

 SOFTWARE RELATIONS:

Starship 1 inspired Galactic Space Wars (Fairchild Channel F)
Starship 1 inspired Star Ship (Vectrex)

OTHER VERSIONS OF THE SAME SOFT:

Star Ship (1977) for the Atari 2600
