One on one

One on One is an early basketball videogame released in october 1974, maybe the first along with Basketball (Taito, 1974).

While Basketball is in fact a variation of pong, One on One is more than that. Looking at the features below shows that this game was really innovative and must be remembered as the real first step towards real basketball simulations.

Promotional text reads:

- fast break action
- 10 second possession, player must shoot
- ball control action
- players move at same speed in all directions (reaction and coordination appeal)
- opponents takes immediate possession if steal is made in back court
- positive stick shift control
- adjustable timer (1.5 min to 8 min)
- player position logically controlled. No jitter, no adjustments
- eye catching design (brilliant color combined with wood grain) easy to clean, easy to touch up

 SOFTWARE RELATIONS:

One on one is related to Basketball (Arcade)
