IMSAI
8080

Mike Boyd adds:
The IMSAI would not accept some of the MITS memory boards, it came with a small schematic of a couple of gates that you had to "splice" on the back of the front panel since the S-100 standard had not really been finalized.
IMSAI has also accidently shipped some of the kits with backwards stud diodes in the kits which caused the power supply to charge the large caps BACKWARDS and had some of them blow up.
The WORST part about the IMSAI is that the power switch was 110, and the power supply ran two large wires to the upper right of the front panel board, I remember getting shocked many times while working on the unit; I was talking to a customer and laid the front panel down on the power supply and ran 110vac thru the 8v unreg system.
The front panel artwork was a piece of printed film you would place behind the front panel, it would always "crinkle" and look awfull - you could also rub your hand back and forth and sometimes the static would cause the front panel to "crash".
