PC Engine Duo

The launch of the PC Engine Duo in 1991 marked the beginning of a new era in the console world. Containing a PC Engine and a Super CD-ROM² unit which were unified in a single case, along with the Super System Card integrated on the motherboard, it was the first stand alone console able to play CD-ROM games.

Like its predecessor the PC Engine, the Duo was very popular in Japan, selling well and establishing a large fan base.

With the same internal hardware as the later R/RX revisions, the original PC-Engine Duo has a lock on the CD door, a headphone jack and dark grey case.
