Centronics GLP 3101
Hello, I have an old Centronics GLP (1!) dot matrix printer (model 3101, built ~1984) with serial and parallel interface. I find information about GLP2 but I need GLP1 information about the Dip-switches to control the printer. (GLP = great little printer) I would to like use the printer to monitor a alarm-system with serial interface. But I need the real dip-switch positions. So I need a Usermanual or information about the Dip-switches. There are 2 Dip-switch-trim (switch-series) with each 8 dip-switches. I will be very happy for any help. Thankyou ... Martina (German with bad language .lls, I hope you understand me) Edited by Martina_wills_wissen - 04 December 2011 at 8:43am |

Hi Martina, does this help:-
http://www.old-computers.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=5854#10889 The information came from a German site, so it may be good you also check there:- http://www.edaboard.de/s-info-zu-centronics-glp2-t1498.html From googling it appears the GLPI is the 3101, and the GLPII is the 3102 or 3103. But you state GLPI and 3103! Please advise back on progress. Good Luck - Mike Edited by Mike Newcomb - 04 December 2011 at 6:38am |

Dear Mike,
thanks for your quick replay. In the mentioned website reported about GLP2 (GLPII = 3102, 3103); there are two switch-series with each 10 dip-switches. But in my printer (GLPI = 3101)are two switch-series only with each 8 dip-switches. I've tried many settings (similar GLP2), without success. I hope to continue to help Thanks, Martina |

Hi Martina, I advised the GLPII dip switch information came from a German Forum.
Possibly you should also post there, a.ng if anyone has the GLPI information. As a matter of interest, where are you based? I am in Hammersmith, West London. Regards - Mike Edited by Mike Newcomb - 04 December 2011 at 9:58am |

Hello Mike,
I reside near Koblenz. (Where meet the German rivers Mosel and Rhine). Now Iam starting in the German forum a call for help. Thank you again. If I have a solution, I will publish them here. Have a good time! Martina |

Hello Martina, today is your good luck day!
I have found someone selling one of these printers on ebay uk, complete with the manual. He has sent me a picture of the dip switch settings page in English, which can be viewed below. Regards - Mike. ![]() Edited by Mike Newcomb - 11 December 2011 at 5:52am |

Hi Mike,
I have read the FAQ, but I am neither an administrator nor do I have permission to upload one of these images. A girlfriend gave me the paper with the dip switch settings. How can I ask the admin, to allow me to upload a single image? Regards - Martina Thank you for the hint with the deletion of private message |
