I’ve just gotten a new computer. That’s new to me. 1 may’ve seen 1 & not known it was a PC. It’s called «easy2touch TS-600». It has a touch-sensitive screen & was used in a restaurant by waiters. Has 31 meg hard disc, 4 meg RAM & runs MS-DOS 6·22. Ports are for keyboard (small plug), printer, network, 2nd. VDU, floppy drive (looks like monitor 1!) &… a cash draw. The mouse port is occupied by a short lead from the touch panel (this works fine + EDIT ~ just touch the screen & the cursor moves to 1s finger). I guess it’s before 1995 alth° I’ve not found the BIOS so don’t know what processor &c. I’ve Open G.E.M. that works well + touch-screen (don’t think enough RAM & HD for Windows 3). I like playing Minesweeper & drawing pictures (+ my fingers!) ~ are they available for DOS? I use INTERLINK to copy things over from Windows ME computer started + W’95 floppy.
In fact it’s a 386 @ 50mHz & no math co-processor & BIOS from July’95 & a ‘build date’ @ end of 2000. The HD= not full sized 1, but a ‘flash-memory’. I suppose that if 1 can’t find an old computer it’s the next best thing? Not mouse port but fits s-video. Found kids' DOS draw game & trivia quiz. I could run Windows3 on it. Found I've DOSSHELL on old computer. Cannot use DBLSPACE from MS-DOS6.2 on 6.22 ~ W'3.1 = 6 meg so = OK. But could not get touch-screen to work + it. Tried MS flightSim5 (=<'95)~ can control throttal, flaps & landing-gear but not stearing. Need mouse but've old problem of "a round plug into a square hole". 1 needs DRIVESPACE for 6.22 ~ alth° I've SuperStor from '91. Joystick maybe better than touch-screen for flinght sims. I'd like to write DOS prgrams that use mouse. Edited by Andrew H |

This is really cool for restaurants, but recently what the idea came from somewhere is that you'll have a touch screen menu on every table and place your order by clicking the menu item. This request goes to the kitchen or instant database kind of thing which processes your requests and you get your order in the table.
