EDS
C64 EDC

We are looking for information about this rare machine made by the German company EDS. It seems that only 320 machines of this type have been sold, mostly in Germany.

The inside was composed of a C64 mainboard, a built-in PSU and a dual 5.25" floppy disk drives. The enhanced keyboard had a numeric keypad.

We need more info about this computer ! If you designed, used, or have more info about this system, please send us pictures or anything you might find useful.

Unlike a lot of inferior systems, such as the Sinclair Spectrum or the Amstrad/Schneider CPC series, the Commodore 64 had a lot to offer: sophisticated sound, graphics and file I/O features. Especially the VIC2 video chip and the SID sound chip were far more advanced than those chips used by Commodore''s competitors.

I have a C64 in a 80s PC Style case that looks almost exactly the same and I wonder if this thing is also a machine by EDS. It has only one internal disk drive though.

I thought a C64 couldn't be uglier. This computer proved me wrong.

Greets from a Speccy fan ;-)
